Summary: I found this navigator to be nearly flawless. I prefer a mobile unit rather than a dash mounted unit and this works perfectly for me. When traveling I carry it and plug it into my rental car. The 5" screen size is perfect. The signal is solid unless I am in a tunnel. The only negative issue is that the internal battery initially did not hold its charge for very long and now does not hold it at all which means it will not function unless it is attached to a 12V supply.
Summary: Large easy to read display. Good voice prompts. On the down side...once in a while it doesn't know how to get you to where you are going! Specifically, if you ignore back to back suggestions to correct what it perceives to be a failure to listen to its suggestions, it might get a bit wacky!
Summary: This Magellan GPS has all the options I like in a mobile unit, covering all of North America (including Alaska and Canada), in a compact unit. I was able to get a complete unit for a reasonable price, having all the original options that came with the unit, for a very reasonable price. I was also able to investigate and secure an update to make the unit curent with existing roads and AAA lodgings and travel data.
Summary: My old Magellan quit working and I was looking for a replacement. This unit had a large screen and it was priced right, so I gave it a try. It works just like my old unit so there was no learning curve. The larger screen is a definate improvement and the volumne has the capibality to be much louder which is also much nicer. All in all I would not hesitate to recommend this unit to anyone who wants to get from point A to B.
Summary: I pruchased this item about a month ago. It works very good. I can find any place I want by the searching system. It saved me a lot of time. And I even do not remember it is refaburished. It is just like a new and original one.
Summary: A great system, this is my third, each time I have purchased a better model but still have all three. Magellan is the only system that allows use of zip codes to locate your destination instead of typing the name of the city.
Summary: The 5310 is very chatty, IT identifies the road you are on as well as the upcomming turns and roadways. The 3D screen is not very different from the 4200 series but there is certainly a difference between 4.3" and 5". Makes it a bit easier on older eyes. I find the GPS very adequate, as I have put it side by side with my Toyota Factory GPS and various other brands and there is not a second or two in the announcment times.
Summary: I have been thinking about buying a GPS for a while, just didn't want to spend a lot of money. I won this item off auction for $55 and it's completely awesome for the money I spent. I love it, it's easy to use and has a great view screen, easy to see. I totally recommend this unit to anyone thinking to purchase a GPS, even if it means spending up to $100.
