Good but not Great

anonymous, Amazon
12 January 2010
  • Summary: I really like this GPS. The screen is large. The volume is plenty loud enough. I keep the volume set at medium. At dusk it switches from a bright to a dark screen. The voice is pleasant and easy to understand. It is easy to enter street data. The directions are accurate.

Jay Marcucci, Amazon
17 October 2008
  • Summary: I purchased this unit after evaluating several different vendors and models. It was exactly what I wanted however - PLEASE NOTE THE UNIT DOES NOT HAVE BLUETOOTH NOR VOICE COMMANDS. Amazon has yet to change the descriptions as someone else noted this months ago.

Not Bad

P. Steiner, Amazon
2 July 2008
  • Summary: I purchased this item and have been using it regularly, it tends to try to send me on some strange routes some times with many turns but when I had absolutely no idea where I was going it was usually fairly good.

Magellan Maestro 5310

Sabine Niehaus, Amazon
2 July 2008
  • Summary: This is a beautiful new toy! I love my Magellan Maestro. I have had several GPS's ... usually settling for value over quality. This time I went with what I knew I wanted...larger screen, brighter picture (the others you could not see the screen during the daytime - this one is very clear and...

My first GPS unit

Kody J. Krause, Amazon
2 July 2008
  • Summary: I got this unit as a Christmas gift, I think it came from Costco. I have never owned a GPS unit before, so I didn't really know what to look/ask for in a GPS. The first thing I noticed out of the box on this unit is the size of the screen, it is big!

  • Summary: I bought this product to replace a Garmin I had broken. I was happy with the Garmin, but the Magellan is better and bigger with advanced technology that makes it a great value.

Very capable GPS

Spacecowboy, Amazon
2 July 2008
  • Summary: We've own this Magellan 5310 now for about a year now and are very happy with it. And we're pretty pleased with it because it has taken us from point A to point B very reliably. We live in the Snohomish County in the State of Washington and whenever we drive in to Seattle it is like hell on wheels.

Nice large screen

JRS, Amazon
2 July 2008
  • Summary: The 5 inch screen is a very big improvement over the 4" screen. I went from an installed GPS unit in my car to this unit. It is easy to see and very easy to program. Maps are up to date and the AAA tour book is very useful.

Maestro shines but has some sour notes

Detlef H. Rost, Amazon
2 July 2008
  • Summary: After 4 months of use I can say that the Maestro 5310 with 5 inch screen is easy to read, easy to use and my wife would not want to be without it anymore. But it is not perfect. As bought, the software is out of date for our area (Orlando, FL) I have not tried to update it yet
