Summary: The Magellan Maestro 4370 may a good product for some. Mine on the other hand has turned out to be a lemon. As in my overall rating shows, The display is great, Features are exceptional, But the performance lacks a lot. Without warning the unit freezes up until it automatically does a hard re-boot,(Wiping out all saved data) Or the complete depletion of battery power and a hard re-boot.
Summary: The Magellan Maestro 4370 I purchased on eBay from seller ZKARLO (164967) has some serious problems. The unit will only operate when plugged into the car charger and no matter how long it's left on charge the battery will not accept a charge (Shows only two bars on the battery meter). The supplied USB cable, GPS to PC, did not fit the 4370. It seemed to be the wrong size at the 4370 end. It was a Mini-A and should have been a Micro-B.
Summary: Update 10/08/09 - they have a firmware upgrade to the unit that helps some of these things and adds a couple of features - still hangs up about once a week - aggravating. I raise it from a one to a two - still not very good, but an improvement. Compared to the old Sreet Pilot I had, this thing is not worth the powder to blow it to (your least favorite place here) First a few Positive things: 1. Great display - resolution is good, even the 3D buildings are good. 2.
Pros: Map screen, choice of routes, Wonderful and fast Data Base for point of interests, Ioved the fact when in normal mode it told you what street you were on as opose to what street up next and Lane assistance /3d graphics for price it's worth it but...
Cons: Froze up while driving, A lot of the time I got an error message that stated can't detect hardware please reset device This was for the traffic antena that was built in. the last straw when I typed in a town Deland Flroida it wasn't on the map
