Ok if you want simple

gshoes, Amazon
8 May 2008
  • Summary: I bought this for my 75 year old Grandfather for Christmas. 6 months later and several thousand miles driven he is still raving about it. We bought this unit for him because it had the best reviews with the least amount of "bells and whistles" that can become confusing to a novice electronics...

Super GPS

O. S. Pedersen, Amazon
6 May 2008
  • Summary: My first Magellan GPS. It is extremely easy to use, almost like "plug and play" turn in on and off you go. My only negative comment is that Magellan should have included a written manual instead of a CD-Rom.

Works great with lots of useful features.

J. Morales, Amazon
5 May 2008
  • Summary: I have been using the unit for a week now in the LA area. I am pleasantly surprised by it's usefulness and much improved experience over a Garmin unit I was familiar with. Features I liked the most: - Detects when your going really slow in traffic and automatically gives you an indicator on the side...

Near perfect!

Stanley Rodrigues, Amazon
4 May 2008
  • Summary: I love this thing! It's as easy as they say. I picked it up at the post office, took it out of the box, plugged it in, and it was ready to go. The only problem I had, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was that the traffic isn't included (which doesn't matter too much - for the price) and...

Helpful Gadget

Laurie J. Toker, Amazon
3 May 2008
  • Summary: We bought this as a Gold Box special, so the price ($149) was quite low. We had been thinking about a GPS for a while, but the low price grabbed us. This is a cute little thing, easy to stick in a purse (without the window mount, of course). We are wary of theft, so we never leave it in the car.

Be cautious!! Chose a different brand

G. Bailey, Amazon
2 May 2008
  • Summary: I'll keep it brief. Customer service is beyond non-existent! Bought hand held unit, worked fine in US. Bought Direct Route EU, software. Would not load on unit. After 7 months yes 7 MONTHS of emails/letters/ phone calls. Magellan finally agreed to exchange, but they sent wrong software.

Magellan Maestro 3140 GPS

Ralph E. Marshall, Amazon
1 May 2008
  • Summary: This is an amazing unit, plug and use with no setup needed. It has made my driving anywhere so much easier and I believe everyone shouild have a GPS and of all the units available I like Magellan the best. I have had one for about 4-5 years and it has saved my sanity several times.

Ready to pay extra for Map Updates

verychilli, Amazon
30 April 2008
  • Summary: I bought this Costco and have used it fairly across USA and Canada. Though the product is fine there are some quirks that everyone should know about - [1] Wall Charger is not included. Unit takes around 3 hours in the car to be charged completely. [2] Updates need a full battery.
