Summary: On a recent business trip, my rental car was broken into in a hotel parking lot. Though my Tom Tom Go was safe in my room, the mount and charge cords were stolen. Since my Tom Tom was a couple of years old, the battery life was poor and I needed to replace the unit to complete my trip.
Summary: I read some of the complaints regarding this product, like that model does not speak the street names! Well, if you read the description of this model, you will read that it does not speak the street names.
Summary: Wow. This is so simple to use and is accurate down to a couple of FEET! I needed one of these years ago. This model does not "announce" street names, but it shows the street names on the screen.
Great system, great functionality, never get lost again.

Summary: This is a great product. We bought this as a gift for a friend and both him and his wife are very happy with it. I personally have a garmin and used to have a tomtom. I didn't like the tomtom but I really like the garmin so I wanted that for my friend but when I saw the bargain that megellan was...
Summary: Although my car has a built in GPS, I have had difficulty with it because of the need for discs. I decided to purchase the Magellan Maestro because of its simplicity of operation and the fact that it is completely self contained. It has proven its worth to me, many times over.
THE BEST VALUE FOR WHAT YOU REALLY NEED...update 1/08 review, plz read

Summary: I'm new in this GPS fad, but I have this and tried another brand( tom tom). What I like about this then the Tom tom is that this will give me a tone just as you are suppose to turn as the TT don't tell you.
Summary: I just returned the Garmin Navi. I really didn't like it too much. Paid $449.00 on sale. I bought the magellan 3100...got it for 215.00. This is a great GPS. Although not as many POI's it has the banks, gas stations, and restaurants as good as anyone.
Summary: 1st time GPS user. We used it over the past several days whenever we traveled in the Southern Cal area. It accurately defined travel routes and quickly recalculated if we deviated from its specified route. The smart way it figures out street names etc it a tremendous time saver.
Summary: i've been watching this market for car GPS units for several years. Never could pull the trigger because the cost/benefit was always too high. Finally, there seems to be a set of new models from several manufacturers that allow sub-$200 prices. These units do everything I need.
Summary: I'm a long time TomTom user, and I bought this GPS for my wife because it is small, simple, and inexpensive. We've been very pleased! The SIRF star III GPS chipset is incredible! It was able to lock onto 8 satellites from INDOORS!
