Summary: I bought this because the original one that I had broke. It is a good basic GPS and it gets me everywhere I need to be. It is very easy to use and is quite reliable. I would highly recommend this GPS based on the reasonable price and its simple functions. It does not have all the add-on features as the more expensive models, but if all you need is accurate directions, this is certainly the way to go.
Summary: this gps works so well, it has given my wife a whole new comfidence in driving places that she has not gone before. last week end we went from las vegas to laughlen we were going to just stay in vegas but the machines were just to tight if you know i mean and i swore we were going the wrong way but it found a faster way to get there and i have been going to both of these places for 20 years because i live near la buy one now and lock it in your trunk just in case.
2007 model Awesome super clear/sharp easy great info$50
14 February 2010
Summary: 2007 model Awesome super clear/sharp easy great info $50 used. Great TOUCH Screen easy to read and use. Such and excellent voice U can set on floor and do not even need to watch screen anyway. Very accurate. Small/compact cheap accessories on ebay window mount $7, computer update cord $3, home charger $4, and that was with shipping included. Older models are not outdated.
Summary: This unit, I have had 3 now. Why 3 you might wonder,if it is so darn good. Well the 1st one I managed to lose. 2nd was stolen out of my car in my driveway.(Do not believe it was stolen because it was a Magellan Maestro, more like because it was there. Bet the thief had no trouble selling thou .) Then I bought another complete brand new one that I still have. With 08-09 upgrade the unit has a fantastic amount of information.
Summary: Granted, it gets me where I want to be, but takes me clear across the map until I do get there. I always choose the fastest time option and it will litterally drag me along every scenic route. It took me 9 hours to make a 5 hour trip, and 5 hours to make a 3 1/2 hour trip... Plus, I have to wiggle the 12V charger or else the GPS plugged in will say the battery's dying. Not my favorite purchase..
Summary: My Magellan Maestro died about a month ago and I needed to go on a long trip out of state. I saw that this one was a whole lot cheaper but still the same brand so I went ahead and bought it. BIG MISTAKE. This model is much more cheaply made than my last and was completely unacceptable. Let me see if I can remember everything that was wrong with it. 1) The processor is w a y t o o s l o w.
Summary: I got this for my stepdad who is in his 70s. He is not what you would call a gadget guy. It is perfect for him because it is very simple to use. What some might call a lack of features is a actually a plus for him. I helped him get started with it and he quickly mastered switching between the screens, entering addresses to navigate to, using the points of interest feature (very handy when traveling in unfamiliar areas to find gas, lunch, hotels, etc), and the current...
Summary: Nice unit for the money. Get's you from Point A to B with adjustable settings. Nice full color touch screen makes it easy to navigate through the menus. Right turn left turn guidance without street names. Not particularly excited about that. Need to be careful when routing a trip. This unit has taken me well out of my way when not necessary. Settings will correct this.
Summary: this unit is great, I bought it to help woith finding houses for in home service and it really helps, i no longer need to look up a map for each address I just punch it in on the gps and the next thing I know I'm there. the input is very simple and the ability for the unit to turn itself off when the truck turns off is great. The only down side is when I'm useing it for a compas my wife can see how fast i'm driving on the screen.
