Summary: Device is nice, but I have several complaints. Why don't you send a users manual with device? It took me several days online to try and find one. I understand the manuals online are very long, but some kind of getting started advice would have been nice.
Summary: This is a great GPS for Geocaching! YOU MUST update to the latest version software when you get it. I got it and it worked fine, but a few days later it started freezing at the startup screen. Just google "Magellan Explorist GC Update" to get the latest update.
Summary: i have been using this GPS strictly for geocaching for about 4 years now, this abused little guy has held up 3x being drenched in water, including once when i straight up dropped it in a lake. All i had to do was take it apart and let it dry out in some sun and it was fine the next day.

Summary: If you have Windows 8, you can not use. After a month of attempts and a call to Magellan, this is what they determined. Now my return window is out of date. I think it would have been a great device to use but do not get if you do not have a computer that operates Windows 8.

Summary: This has a horrible battery life & last minutes instead of the suggested 18 hrs. It is also difficult to download geocaches to it from webpages ( & not the simple drag & drop it advertised). Magellan offered a used one in exchange but that's pointless. It is a waste of $.
Summary: My husband tried to power the unit up and the screen is frozen, he went on line and tried to trouble shoot the issue and it seems that this must happen a lot. He has tried 4 times to call the Magellan help line and hasn't been able to get through yet. We will be returning the unit.
