Summary: The Magellan Explorist 710 is a nice GPS with camera/camcorder. Its much better than the old Explorist 500 series. It starts up faster & pinpoints your location. Its also much less expensive & better value for my money, but has a slightly smaller display 3" vs. 4" than the Montana 650.
Summary: My husband is a big geocacher. So when our gps got stolen it put a bit of a cramp in his activities. The last one had been a gift and though it was one of the base model my husband loved it. So he decided that with more features it would be even better and started researching and found this one. It works just like he hoped it would and we are definitely impressed with all the bells and whistles so far. Though all that extra stuff is not necessary it sure is nice.
Summary: I am very pleased with the proformance and easy to use as long as you take the time to read the manual. the camera i have set it on the highest setting and it takes a great pic. I use it for some geocaching and its right on the dime. I am so happy I bought this one.
Summary: been stuck on a gold for a while.. just could not do a garmin product with all the problems my bud's have with them.. decided to try this one because of the loaded maps... this product is great and I have no idea what some of the other reviewers are saying when talk about the 4 corners feature.. the way this works is perfect, quick and could not be better.. would have been nice to get a screen protector with the box..

Summary: I have used top-of-the-line hiking gps units from Magellan, Garmin, Delorme, and Lowrance and this Explorist 710 gets the highest grade! It simply does everything and does it well. Not only is it superb for hiking and geocaching, but it also will deliver door-to-door spoken directions turn-by-turn. The built in camera does a great job at grabbing those "I wish I had a camera right now" shots.
Fantastic, accurate GPS unit for geocaching and other activities.

Summary: I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews. I have owned three other kinds of handheld GPS units, and watched many other people use their different models. I found this one to work very well. The touch screen is responsive and does not misread where I am touching it, unlike two of my Garmin dash mounted units. The screen is visible in sunlight. I have seen several reviewers complain about it being hard to seen in sunlight, but I did not have that problem.
Summary: If you're in to GeoCaching then the Mabellan eXplorist 710 is a fantastic GPS. It must have been designed specifically for this task. I bought it for Search and Rescue but its daily use is Geocaching.
Summary: I have been using my 710 for several weeks now, and I am very happy with its features and performance. I started of with the eXplorist GC and upgraded to the 710. The larger screen is just right. The ability to customize to your own needs makes this GPS very user friendly. I am also pleased with how well the camera works, I didn't think I would use it at first but find myself using it more and more. It is just a great all around product.
