Summary: This is what I needed to be able to input a card with the boundaries of the hunting club I'm in. All the other 80 members have this card. The area is divided into about 50 separate hunting areas and its important to keep out of the other hunter's way. I've been hunting this club for 6 years and finally got the 600 I needed all along.

Summary: I was not willing to pay more for a product I was not too familiar with. I am having fun and learning a lot about these type of devices and sharing the information with friends. I even hope to put it too good use, exploring around in tropical rain forest is serious business, since people get hopelessly lost by just wondering off a short distance. These type of gadgets can save lives.
Summary: Excellent GPS unit, quick satellite reception and quick accurate easy too read display. Offers barometer, altimiter, thermometer, color display, upgradable memory, the most versitle GPS I have used.
Summary: I absolutely love my eXplorist for many reasons, but besides tracking faster then my outgoing Vista etc., a few other things stand out. First, the screen on the eXplorist is crystal clear and extremely bright - much brighter then comparable Garmin GPS such as the expensive 60CSx. I can't read any of the Garmin GPS in bright day light without having to hide it in the shade (my biggest complain), but the eXplorist? No problem at all.
reduced from 5 to 2 stars but Amazon will not allow me to edit

Summary: I have had no (emphasis NO) software or hardware problems with my unit. I have owned 4 GPS's over the years. I like the user interface on my Garmin eTrex Vista better. But this unit gets faster fixes and works better under trees. It's a 14 channel rather than 12 channel receiver. But I bought this unit because it is the ONLY GPS on the market that gives all the roads in Australia and an Australia-wide topo map! All on a 500MB SD card.
Summary: This is one of the best GPS's I have ever used. I had a problem with the electronic compass at first. Amazon gladly returned and gave me another one. This one is great for every need I come across. I have no complaints.
Summary: (Again submitted on behalf of my husband, the gift recipient) - "the first time downloading maps is troublesome and difficult, but after the stress,...comes the use of a great GPS. Color display is crystal clear. Great for geocaching.
