Summary: had one and it broke and megellan does not work on explorist 600 so i had to buy one on ebay and with my bad luck i dropped it in the river and lost it. so i bid on two more and the same person bought both of them with seconds left to beat me sounds like something fishy is going on with ebay. with that said i dont know if i will use ebay again.
Summary: Hi, I just got the 600 and my first question was how do you charge the battery. I had to search the web because Magellans web site was not at all helpful. The usb/charging wire should go down across the battery case incase you (I would think it would go the other way so you can easily lay it on a table while charging)are curious. Here is a link that has some helpful info [...
Summary: I like the GPS unit its self, but what makes me upset is that it did not come with an AC adaptor like it said it would. I contacted the dealer and they told me they would send one out. They have not and the only way to charge it is off the car. It is very frusterating and I wish they would send it like they said. I did save money buying it off ebay, but I have to now find an AC unit to charge it.
Summary: Overall the Magellan 600 works as advertisded. The software locks my system at times and could use more features. The unit itself routes as expected with the exception of no automatic re-route. If you go off course by accident or intention you must physically indicate that you wish a re-route. I use the Megellan on a motorcycle and one often likes to take side roads on the way to a destination. I would stick with Garmin for this which has an automatic re-routing option.
Summary: Although I am happy with the product, I have send several emails to Magellan seeking assistance, but none have been replied too. This may be because I am from Australia, which if that is a problem I should not deal with overseas companies like Amazon.
