Summary: I own both the Explorist 600 and Garmin 60CSX. It would be great if I could combine the two. Although both Magellan and Garmin have newer, more expensive models out, the new units have their own problems so I have not been tempted to upgrade.
Summary: This is one of the best GPS's I have ever used. I had a problem with the electronic compass at first. Amazon gladly returned and gave me another one. This one is great for every need I come across. I have no complaints.
Summary: I gave my son a Garmin 60C for Christmas last year. Tinkered with it for a couple of days before handing it over. It worked well. Of course I wanted one for myself, but cash is cash, so I've been putting it off.
Summary: Although I am happy with the product, I have send several emails to Magellan seeking assistance, but none have been replied too. This may be because I am from Australia, which if that is a problem I should not deal with overseas companies like Amazon. Regards Neville Prosser

Summary: I have had no (emphasis NO) software or hardware problems with my unit. I have owned 4 GPS's over the years. I like the user interface on my Garmin eTrex Vista better. But this unit gets faster fixes and works better under trees. It's a 14 channel rather than 12 channel receiver.
Summary: Hi, I just got the 600 and my first question was how do you charge the battery. I had to search the web because Magellans web site was not at all helpful. The usb/charging wire should go down across the battery case incase you (I would think it would go the other way so you can easily lay it on a...
Summary: (Again submitted on behalf of my husband, the gift recipient) - "the first time downloading maps is troublesome and difficult, but after the stress,...comes the use of a great GPS. Color display is crystal clear. Great for geocaching."
Summary: I have had this for some years now (about 2 months after it was 1st released), no problems, I never had to call CS, so I can't comment on that. I have gotten is wet, snowed on, in cool weather (20's), hot weather (over 105) & dropped it a few times.
Summary: I was all set to by a Garmin and let myself be talked into buying this. Short and sweet XP Pro doesn't recognize the driver even if you say it's ok. Installs it but, won't use it. That means the GPS will not communicate with the computer.
