Replacement for one that finally died

Colene M. White, Amazon
14 April 2014
  • Summary: My husband keeps two of these in his dive gear and on his boat for locating previously-visited dive sites. He can be a bit technologically challenged; and he has no problems using this one. As one of his finally gave out, we were glad to find an exact replacement on Amazon with prompt two-day shipping.

Easy GPS to operate!

dawnderm, Ebay
11 January 2014
  • Summary: This is one of the earlier GPS units made and a little more simple to operate. It was great for people that are not as tech savvy - like my retired father. He's used his for years (2004) and they don't make them anymore. He asked me to pick up some spares so he and his retired friends can use it for several more years. Excellent for saving your favorite fishing spot on a big lake!!!

Take this GPS evewry where I go out of town.

David E. Corrasa "Uncle Dave", Amazon
5 April 2013
  • Summary: I have used this worldwide on cruses. I pinpoint major cities to I can see how far they are from home, (as the crow flies). If you leave the ship and walk through town, it can track your travelling. If you get lost. Just walk in the direction toward the beginning, you can find your ship again. It is fun. Just remember to keep fresh batteries in it. If it goes dead, all your saved stuff disappears. Check the battery monitor once a month.

Great for the price

J. R. Clark, Amazon
26 January 2012
  • Summary: I have been using my explorist for about 3 years now, have dropped, lost it in a river and found it later, its beaten and scratched and keeps working. I have 3 other GPS units Garmin e-trek and DeLorian, and I like the Megellan the best. It is basic, not many roads or POIs but I use if for backpacking, climbing and cross country travel off road and it is dependable, and easy to use.
