Summary: I purchased the GPS unit on eBay because I had a wide variety of units to choose from and I was able to compare the various features between competeing brands. The unit functioned flawlessly and I was able to acquire the unit at a fraction of the cost of a new unit.
Summary: The unit works great and it gets you to the spot. Make sure you have the latest firmware from Lowrance. What works the best about this units is I have other Lowrance products and the mapping chips work across the platform. Boat in the summer, in the trick for ice fishing in the winter. One set of digital maps. The Navionic and Lakemasters both work great. The screen resolution is good for the BW unit. Back lighting is good.
Summary: We picked up one of these GPS units back in 2005 when they were on clearance. We never really used it that much, but I found recently that they support the NMEA-0183 protocol, so they will work with Kenwood's APRS capable radios. The interfance cables are getting hard to find though, so if you see one, pick it up. I have it interfaced to my Kenwood TH-D7AG, and the radio gets position data from the GPS, and the GPS displays callsigns as waypoints from the radio.
Summary: This is my first GPS. I purchased this unit mainly for geocaching. I read many, many reviews on GPS units before I decided on this unit. Never having had a GPS unit before, I wanted to get the most features available for the budget I had. This unit is great. We've used it in the car while traveling as well as for geocaching. The mapping software came with it as well as a memory card, memory card reader and 12 volt charger for the car.
Summary: I love to hike and never would think about leaving the trails without my GPS. It makes getting to the park fun and then venturing for mushrooms hassel free. I always know where I am at. You can not beat this for the price. I LOVE IT.
Summary: This is an excellent unit compared to other brands for same money; the Lowrance IFinder Pro has a feel of quality materials. The LCD is larger than other brands. It has both an Easy Mode and Advanced Mode. I thought of buying an external antenna for using the unit in the vehicle but all I need to do is open the sunroon and it connects to the satellites. The Pro Plus comes with an USB SD reader and SD card, 12 volt charger.
