Lowrance says "No Topo"

Summary: Even though their description, as well as the specs here and on other seller's sites, say that this unit come pre-loaded with topographic and hillshade information, my unit was delivered to me sans these pieces of data. When I contacted Lowrance to figure out if perhaps it was my error as a user or perhaps a glitch, I was told "those units do not come preloaded with topographic information".
Summary: Let me start by saying that this is my first GPS. I've always said: - If you want a good picture, get a real camera (don't use your cell phone) - If you want to organize your day, get an agenda (don't use your cell phone) .. You get the point. Well, this isn't the case for this GPS unit. Any phone (with a GPS receiver) will do much better in GeoCaching. I bought this unit at BestBuy for $200 dlls, I thought I was getting a good deal but believe me... I didn't.
Summary: This device works well, once you have bought some mapping software to go with it. This seems only to be available from the company which markets these devices, and comes pre-loaded on a micro sd card. It costs £80. So if you buy it you are buying a £270 device, not a £190 device. If you want detailed maps (say 25,000:1) you have to buy these separately. Check before you buy it does what you want.
