Works OK but no Updates

M. Thomson, Amazon
21 June 2009
  • Summary: I received the LN730 when I purchased other LG products, so I can't complain about the price I paid. This issue I have with this unit is getting updated maps. I have been digging around on message boards, all have the same message - No updates planned! There are alternatives to install third party maps, but LG should make this easy for there customers. Currently units are shipped with 2006.Q2 maps... Its now two years later....

  • Summary: I am very happy with the purchase of a GPS unit by LG. The product is great and the purchase through Amazon was very fast and simple. I would highly recommend purchasing through Amazon as I will be sure to in the future.

Stuck with a map of 2006

C. Burks "phriend2spin", Amazon
12 February 2009
  • Summary: Why would anyone buy this thing for today? The maps are out of date and even worse, YOU CAN NOT UPDATE THE MAPS. There are no updates given by LG!??!! Why would anyone buy this thing? I bought mine in 2007 and it worked great but after a few years, I noticed it wasn't showing any new streets or highways. Don't buy it.

GPS is great. THIS GPS is awful.

PhreshMeet, Amazon
11 January 2009
  • Summary: I bought a Garmin years ago. It was too big (because it's so old) to take on a trip that involved a flight out and a long drive back, so I took my father's LG which is not much bigger than a cellphone. It was better than having no GPS, but that's it. Here are just a few of the complaints. It's not very good at it's basic job. It found my home address easily enough, but entering it involves something of a puzzle. Not so with the Garmin - pick your state and go.
