Summary: I wanted a GPS since I travel all over for work and found this JVC that also has a 20GB Hard Drive and SD card Reader so I can play music, watch videos or movies AND use the GPS when needed. Most GPS Systems in this price range have no storage or a tiny card for maps but this one has enough to work similar to an IPOD storing music and video with the GPS so you can use it all the time instead of just when you are lost.It was pretty easy to use, plugged into the computer...
Summary: Well, I'm glad I sold this unit years ago right after I bought it (and purchased a different one). The value is just going to get less and less on this. I just wanted to warn other buyers planning to buy this now--DON'T! At the time, I bought this for $200 thinking that was a great deal... This GPS is honestly not even worth $100.
Summary: The coordinates are slow to load, I bought a GPS unit so I don't have to make U turns. I make the same amount of U turns that I would make with just having a map printed out online. My unit I bought new for 200, but during the 6 months that I have owned the unit, it has been out of commission for 2. I had to sent the unit back to the factory twice already for servicing. My unit errored out twice with an error message ID:4100. The hard drive crashed on the unit.
Summary: I paid ~$250 for a new unit and am very happy with it. It's a bit of a hastle to update the software and the maps but it is worth it. It can be a little slow to link up to the satelites at times (2-3 minutes) but for the cost I'm happy with my purchase. Works weel on both my car and motorcycle. The storage space for music & video on the hard drive is great bonus.
Summary: The GPS does not locate Satalites very well and it does not accurately locate where current location is. When using it to get to a location, and you miss the turn, it will not recalculate the route, it will only get you to turn around and get back on original path, even though there is a straight route (alternate route) to go.
Summary: Got the eAvinu a few weeks ago, did not read instructions, just plugged it in. It guided me accurately from Tenn. to WV then on to Monroeville, PA. All turns and guidance was right-on. Pretty fast and it was very accurate. Hope reading the intructions doesn't mess up how well it works out of the box! No reason to mess things up, I'll just destroy the owners manual..don't need it!
Summary: I purchased this GPS because we travel some and needed a guidance system. I liked the looks of this GPS, the size of the screen, the mounting brackets, and the fact that it is also portable if you want it to be. I also like the voice portion of the guidance system. It lets you look at the road, not the screen. Although I have not tried the MP3 or the video portion, that was also a selling point.
Constantly LOses signal, Guidance INACCURATE, too CONFUSING

Summary: I bought this product becaue it was CHEAP. FOOLISH ME!! Right from the time I was a kid, I'd hear people say "if anything's too cheap, there's bound to be a catch". Exactly the case here and I was too lured by the low price to see reason. I was also assuming that since this is a JVC product after all, it is bound to be good due to the brand recognition. Boy, was I WRONG!
Summary: JVC's website has the latest firmware and maps. Once you get these the GPS works a lot better. It takes less time locking in on a signal and the maps work well. Also you cant's beat the 5GB personal storage and the 13 million points of interest.
Summary: The GPS unit is mounted on the front windshield. 1. Without the antenna, it takes forever to get the GPS lock or no lock at all. I am talking about hours! 2. With the antenna, it works better but occasionally it does not get GPS lock for at least 30 minutes! 3. You better follow its navigation instruction. If you don't follow its instruction, may be 2 times, the unit freeze. This is a software bug! As a summary, it has GPS signal reception problem and software bug.
