Summary: well it is very complicated to use and it wont let the passenger use it when you are driving witch is a pain because then i have to pull over to reroute the thing and its easy to mess up to where it could take a person an hour to fix it.
Summary: The Jensen NVX200 is NOT a great buy. It can't locate my friend's home which is right across town and has been there for over 40 years. Occasionally it becomes homicidal, telling me to drive off the side of a bridge (My roommate insists it must know me...). Other times it will tell me to get off of the highway only to take me right back on again. Most frustrating though, is when it keeps telling me to make a U-turn even when I know I am heading in the correct direction.
Summary: purchased this on a whim, to check out jensen gps. A little tough to figure out without a manual, but when done is reasonably effective as some of the higher price gps. To bad no updates available, as this has the potential of being one decent unit. has a few tiny routing flaws, but over all worth checking outy.
Summary: Jensen used a second party for the mapping software and they went out of business in 2005! There is no update for the maps and there will be no updates for the maps. If you own one Jensen extends their apology but I'm affraid you are stuck with an outdated GPS.
Summary: The maps on this unit are from 2004 and 2005. There is no update available for them. Consequently the GPS is constantly showing your position in the middle of a farm field or telling you to drive off a cliff. The Canadian maps are all off by at least 1000 yards, so even when you're on an existing road it doesn't know where you are. The manufacturer has been promising an update since 2007 and it has not and most likely will not ever show up.
Summary: I've long been a big fan of Garmin GPS systems. I've sold a lot of them in the past, and never had one come back because a customer didn't like it or because it didn't work. I consider them one of the finest GPS makers in the world, and highly recommend their products to anyone that is looking. But when it came to looking for a unit for personal use, I ignored my own advice.
