Summary: WOW! I cant beleive I was able to purchase this unit for just under $200.00. I was looking to replace the depthfinder on my front deck because the old one finally gave out but I had always wished that I could get one with GPS built in. This is the one and it cost about the same as a sonar only unit. It may be a discontinued model but so what, it has great definition and does exactly what I need it to.
Summary: After having had Garmin, Lowrance and Eagle depthfinders and GPS units, I was disappointed in the Humminbird. It is not easily operated and the graphics are less than I expected. The view while running down the lake and determining where I am in reference to the choreline is what they call a "bird's eye view" instead of directly overhead so the image is quite distorted. I understand why it was so cheap.
Summary: Didn't have a chance to try it on the water yet, but if it does everything the manual says it would do, then it will be a great product for the price. It seems like it has too many functions, some of them will probably never use.
Summary: I purchased this item two days ago at Dick's Sproting Goods because it was on sale and cheaper than Amazon. I installed the unit on my boat and when I turned it on I discovered that the GPS function did not work. It would not get a fix no matter what I did. The next day I called Humminbird tech support and waited for 53 minutes until they finally answered and they told me that it would work if left turned on for 20-30 minutes without pushing any buttons at all.
Summary: Easy to install, works well on calm waters. The built in maps for coastal waters are pretty vauge. I guess I will buy the chip to improve the maps. Trouble with the power connection while traveling in rough water. Must be coming loose for a second. Cuts off but immediately comes back on when I hit the power button. not 100% satisfied but not ready to send it back either.
