Review HP iPaq rx1950

RsGsm
1 April 2009
  • Excerpt: HP is the leader of PDA producers in Europe and tries to keep this position by repairing the mistakes of the disastrous rz1710 with their new product : The new iPAQ rx1950. The company picked the simplest way to create a new PDA and copied an old and time-proved design of the HP iPaq 4150. At $300 it's currently the lowest price you'll find for any Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC. What did HP do to make this PDA so inexpensive?

  • Conclusion: If you're looking for an attractive, extremely pocket-able Windows Mobile Pocket PC that won't break the bank, the HP iPAQ rx1950 is a good choice. It looks great, the display is lovely for viewing photos and videos and performance isn't bad. Throw in WiFi and you've got a reasonable handheld for the networking-minded.
  • Pros: Very slim and light, great looks, good controls and a fantastic color display that's bright and colorful. CPU performance is good and it doesn't leave you waiting to get basic business tasks done. WiFi is easy to use and has excellent range. Battery life is strong.
  • Cons: No software bundle to speak off. $299 isn't a bad price for what you get, but $250 would make it even more tempting to the budget-conscious.

HP iPaq rx1950

Mobile Review
31 August 2006
  • Summary: HP switches the focus to communicators, step by step the model line of classic PDAs is shrinking. If not consider still available, but out of production iPaq model, the current model line contains just 4 device (we don’t count communicators). HP iPaq rx1950 is the simplest model, which is opening the line. The company stuck to the way of the least resistance using HP iPaq 4150 as the basis: it replaced the processor, removed Bluetooth module and simplified sales package.

  • Excerpt: The very picture of simplicity, mobility, and style, this slim, light, and attractive PDA is easy-to-use and boasts a very impressive battery life.Perfect for most casual users, the rx1950 weighs just 4.4-ounces and sells for little more than half of the iPAQ hx2790. What’s gained in style and affordability, however, is paid for with processing power.A 300-MHz Intel PXA270 processor and 32MB of RAM is sufficient for all the basic computing tasks, but won’t go very far in...

  • Excerpt: Společnost Hewlett-Packard patřila (a stále ještě patří) v oblasti Pocket PC zařízení k inovátorům.
