Summary: Very fast at aquiring GPS Satellites. Bluetooth connection is great, no dongle cable to get tangled with. Best if used with the supplied car charger to the Holux 1000, because if battery discharges to 'dead', or if battery is removed, then the Bluetooth connection will have to be re-established, which can be a little time consumming. Otherwise just shutting off the Holux 1000 is the way to go. Turning it back on, it remembers the Bluetooth setting (Comm port number).
Summary: usually gets around 12 satellites. paired up easily with my htc Excalibur running windows mobile 6.5 3vo custom rom. using with garmin mobile xt 5, works just fine. the only negative thing about it, is that it doesn't sync up with my laptop running windows 7. apparently you have to buy a special usb cable to do this. i have several that fit the micro usb slot, but they will charge only. even the one that i use for my external usb drive, still doesn't work.
Summary: Very fast acquisition GPS signal with MTK 32 Sattellite with low power consumption take up to 17-20 hrs power on. Better than SiRFIII 20 Sattelite. Used to Excellent since the new model MTK GPS Chipset 66 Sattellite arrive. So right now on 2010 it get only 4 star good enough for this GPS Bluetooth Receiver. Don't weight by marketing brandname GPS unless you try it.
Holux GPS Blutooth Receiver Works Well on My Nokia 5530
22 August 2010
Summary: I was so upset when i purchased the NOKIA 5530, cause it owns GPS maps, but it doesnt work, after my search on internet, i found that its built with no receiver, so i had to buy external one, i searched on internet and purchased the Holux M-1000, honestly its working more than good, i was surprised how nice, easy, strong and simple it is, so light of weight, so active gives signal rapidly, so simple needs no much of procedures in order to make active each time and it...
Summary: It's an excellent product. Compact sized, simple to operate and with a killer price for what it delivers. I use with an Iphone EDGE (1st gen) throught BT connection, using an app called RoqyBT.
Summary: I was apprehensive at first because the Holux M-1000 doesn't use the SIRF III chipset and I thought it may not be very sensitive. Was I ever wrong! This is so sensitive you can be in a car and have it in your shirt pocket and it still works great. It works indoors at my home and office and easily outperforms my other GPS with the SIRF chipset. It lasts a long time on a charge (so far, all day)l and it is so small and easy to use. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
Summary: I love the size of this GPS, and the fast acquisition time to many satelites. It's extremely accurate. It links up via bluetooth to my Dell Axim (PDA) quickly as well. Lastly, it holds a charge for a long time.
Summary: Think high value! Very easy to use, good instruction set. Charges quickly. Car charger included. Software included to link GPS to PC, Mac, and Pocket PC. VERY quick to acquire satellites. Means I can use Google Maps on my Samsung Omnia on Verizon...take THAT Verizon for locking out the GPS! BUY IT!
Summary: I purchased this device to use with the tomtom navigation software I have on my phone (a treo). The battery for the Holux came fully charged, which I really liked. I was able to sync (connect via bluetooth) with my phone and had it operational within moments. I used it today and had no problems with its functionality.
Summary: This GPS receiver was very easy to use and there was no problem at all pairing it up with my windows smart phone. Using it with my GPS software, i am never lost and always seem to find my way with this thing! It has great signal strength from the satellites and is pretty cheap for such a quality device.
