Summary: Distances (yardage to green) are sometimes accurate but often are way off (up to 20 yards). At least three times per round the unit does not advance to the next hole and I have to stop and do it manually. Lack of confidence in the yardage readouts makes this thing useless. I sent the unit back to Golf Buddy to have it checked. They said that it is functioning fine and returned it. So I got to pay for shipping, had a two week delay and got the same faulty GPS back.
Summary: This GPS from GolfBuddy never worked. The first problem was a CCS error on the start-up screen. I took it in to the GolfBuddy repair center. They fixed that problem. However, it then couldn't get a satellite signal. I received instructions on a software fix, but that did not work. Finally, I returned the unit to the retailer. I am waiting for a replacement. Hopefully, it will function properly.
Summary: I bought the Golf Buddy for my only Christmas present. I thought it would be a good replacement for SG3 Sky Caddie that I was ready to upgrade. Following the directions they gave you, it seemed easy to use. The detailed screen though had a very small font that was very difficult to see in the sunlight. I also found that it would switch to another fairway which was confusing to me on my distance numbers.
Conclusion: terrible experience. golf buddy advertisment claims that every availbility course in north america is pre-downloaded, only 1 golf course within 50 mile radius of where i live where as golf caddy has 22 courses listed. have made 3 request to have 4 courses i play including my own course, asked for a response each time and yet to recieve any. get different answers from golf buddy each time i call so gonna send gps back for refund and buy a different gps.
Summary: I bought a Golf Buddy Tour and used it for three days. The first day the distances seemed to be inaccurate. The second day I measured from known spots on the course and got reading from 25 yards too high to 20 yards too low. I then called Golf Buddy and through the internet we "updated" the software and the targets the Golf Buddy used. I then used the Golf Buddy for the third day.
Summary: The Golf Buddy is at best medicre. What is really terrible is the customer service. The Warranty doesnt get respected. There was a manufacturer defect with the LCD, but the warranty didnt cover the defect after only 2 weeks. I called Golf Buddy directly, and after speaking to many managers and even the Vice President. They started with an estimate of $75 - $100, and then went down to $50 and then finally $35.
