Bad Battery Life, Worse Software.

Summary: Okay - I've put this through it's paces over the past year and a half, including two trips to Haiti. It's junk. The battery life, even if you manage to guess the proper magical automatic interval for saving GPS points, is less than a workday at best.
Summary: You can no longer get software for this device from GiSTEQ. When you could it was really bad. For example: you have to set this up to operate over a COM port (setting baud rate etc) even though it plugs in as a USB device. At this point this is a complete waste of money.
Summary: I've had it for about a year and a half now and the battery reveals itself as the weak component of this product. It used to last for days, but now it won't last more than six hours on a full charge. That limits it's usability for me.
Summary: I used the Phototrackr (and it's bigger cousin, the CP111) a couple of years ago. It worked OK on Windows XP, but Gisteq hasn't updated their software or divers since 2009, and they don't work on Windows7. No one answers their support phone number or returns messages left there or on their website.
Summary: Tried to set it up on several computers under different versions of Windows using the supplied software - couldn't make it work, computer is not connecting to it. And I am more techy than your average guy. Product sent back to Amazon.
Summary: I've had this device for a few years and managed to get it to work on Windows 7. However, it's cranky. Sometimes it won't connect on the appropriate COM port. I found that the tracking was erratic, particularly while walking or standing still.
Summary: I am amazed that other reviewers actually were able to make contact with GiSTEQ tech support! My multiple emails over a week have been unanswered, and calls to them where they profess to being busy, requesting a call back number, likewise receive no response.

Summary: The product is very good once I got it to work on the Mac. It is not compatible with the Mac as it comes from the supplier. I had to install a usb-to-serial driver which is found on GiSTEC support web-page. After that it was a dream to use.
Summary: I've been trying to get this to work as advertised for over a year now. It's useless. The tracking stops working after a few hours and no additional data is saved. I sent it back for repairs and was told it's working fine; but it isn't. So much promise and so little delivery.
