Summary: Just got it and set up was a breeze. Then after using it, I downloaded the information to my computer and found way more information than I could ever use. If you like lots of stats then you will love this. Very comfortable too.
Summary: It doesn't really record the distance you swim but just calculate the distance according the pool length you entered. Though it's smart enough to add the length when you touch the wall of the pool. I don't feel the result is accurate so far, maybe because I am still learning how to use it, but it's already a big help for me to finish 500m without pushing the buttom for each lap. This elegant watch is also big enough for reading the numbers in water and dark. I like it.
Summary: This watch does exactly what you would expect it to. It has survived over a year in the pool and still going strong. It's important you manage your expectations, because a product like this can never be perfect: - Sometimes it will miss a length and give you a length twice as long. Firmware updates have greatly reduced this occurring but just realise that it's not going to give you 100% perfect data because there will be a blip here and there.
Summary: This watch is a really great motivational tool for a pool swimmer. I like the fact of leaving the swim session with data summary. It is also a great indicator if your swimming is efficient, especially stroke count indicator. My high stroke indicator helped me realise that perphaps i am rushing things too much. There are a couple of things I would love to see maybe in the next version of the watch.
Summary: Great swimming watch I had a cheaper type which skipped laps and had very few features. If you a keen swimmer I don't think you can find a better watch to track your workouts. Easy to operate and read in and out of the water, The stroke recognition is first class. Very happy with it...
Summary: I've been using my Garmin swim watch for a couple of weeks now and it's been nothing but faultless every time. It's the sort of gadget that I don't know how I did without now - Great little bit of kit!
Not compatible with Windows 8 / Terrible Customer support
2 February 2014
Summary: This product is not compatible with Windows 8 64 bit computers and when you try to install the software you get an "MSI Error". Buy only if you don't want to syncronise with the computer. Garmin also has terrible customer support. They basically don't read what you write to them when you ask for help and then reply 3 days later with a useless response.
Summary: - Pros: very good accuracy; a LOT of details about your swim sessions; watch is easy to use and manipulate; buttons respond well when in the middle of your session (sensibility and size are good); screen is easy to read even with swim goggles. - Cons: very few non swimming-related features for everyday use; Garmin connect isn't the most user-friendly website out there; no connectivity at all with other fitness environments like Fitbit, Endomondo, MyFitnessPal, etc.
Summary: I don't really like to swim. But I know how good it is for me, and it is efficient exercise, mostly because I'm so bad at it so I try to go twice a week. The experience of using this device in the water was very impressive. It counted my lengths with accuracy and was easy to see, and control while in the pool. Simple button configuration, large screen and numbers, easy pause function. It all worked well.
