Summary: I bought this unit in 2006, and it's still going strong. Used in both rural and urban areas, in poor and good weather, and it almost always is able to pick up a signal and provide good route advice. The battery life is quite good, especially if you use alkalines in conjunction with the power cable.
Summary: Used it today for the first time, screen is somewhat small, and couldnt get the disc provided with USB cord provided,to download so not sure what effect it has, but overall works ok , thumb scroll to navigate through street's , cite's, address's ect,Havent used it night yet but think the small screen wont effect ease of seeing the "Map view" .
Summary: This GPS unit literally fell apart in pieces. First the cord broke, thankfullly not into my car's cigarette lighter; the battery cover falls off of it also and the batteries roll around the floor of the car. I find it very difficult to program. We have no kids and did not handle it roughly so I must have gotten a lemon. I put brand new batteries in it last night to get myself to a job interview this morning and it died before I backed out of my driveway.
Summary: THANK YOU the i5 works great and it is EASY to use i suggest that you attach a shoestring to the unit as all suction cups can and will come off and the unit will crash to the floor etc. the shoe string if looped over the rear view mirror will simply and safely hang there if the suction cup frees its self.
Summary: Well, this unit will certainly get you there and I love the compact size (I have the almost identical i3), but I'd just like to warn people away from buying this older, and now discontinued model -- especially at this inflated price. There are newer and more advanced units available for less than 200 these days. Also, the baseball-like shape isn't too pocketable and this doesn't have a touch screen, which will slow you down when you're entering a destination.
