Summary: I didn't know anything about any GPS systems so I read a lot of reviews. Just about all of them commented that the Garmin is very user friendly and that is what I have found it to be. It is an excellent system, so much so I bought 2 more for my two sons.
Summary: it is very easy to use and very accurate it don't have lot of extras on it and don't have a large enough memory to hold the hole U.S. it does have the garmin lock that makes it so if someone else steals it they can't use it which is nice I always wanted a GPS so i bid on it and won
Summary: The Good - Great screen, can see well in direct sunlight. - Very easy interface in the GPS itself and in the Mapsource software on the PC. - Like all Garmins, since its almost an industry standard, you can easily get maps of almost anywhere in the world. For very updated maps you probably will always have to pay, but for most countries you find sites that give standard -sometimes very undetailed- maps for free. The Bad - Big compared to newer models.
Summary: HAD SPENT A LOT OF TIME ASKING PEOPLE QUESTIONS ON THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS, COULDN'T REALLY GET ANY GOOD FEEDBACK. I WAS ORDERING THIS AS A GIFT FOR MY WIFE WHO IS RELUCTANT TO TRAVEL ON HER OWN. WANTED SOMETHING SIMPLE TO OPERATE YET PRECISE. THIS UNIT DID THAT AND EVEN MORE, AM TOTALLY SATISFIED AND WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.
