Summary: Good product in excellent condition and arrived sooner than expected. I replaced my ST 2610 with this model as my touchscreen quit working and I had no remote. I use this with Topo maps installed as the primary navigation system on my boat and run the GPS 8 hours per day almost every weekend.
Summary: Comments about Garmin StreetPilot 2620: I purchased a refurbished Garmin Streetpilot 2620 fom [...] because I had limited funds, and because I liked what I saw in the comments by other customers. [...
Summary: i really want to give this guy high marks. i did alot of research before i bought it for my husband for christmas, and the reviews looked very good. my experience has not been so good. when it works, it works great. has easy to read screen, clear voice commands, simple navigaion features... unfortunatly, it has failed to work often, and trying to get garmin customer service help is next to impossible. 1st problem. it would not accept personal POI's.
Summary: For the price of this unit now (about $600), which I got from Amazon for $599 with no shipping or tax, it's a bargain. Received it and tested thus far for four days and no faults with it. Satellite reception good, directions good, mounting and setup easy. Will never fear getting lost again and may actually drive more now.
Summary: My experience with my 2620 has proven it to be invaluable. It will give you a few bogus directions, but generally is right on. Reality checks are advisable. The portability and 110 v adopter is great. A "mute" button would be nice (maybe there is one I just can't find it) I was a litle surprised at the $150 update to v 7.0 charge for the 5M points of interest a few weeks ago. Apparently this is made available annually. It certainly wasn't advertised.
Summary: Love this unit, carry it with me when I travel. I had an in-dash unit, I would not bother again. I love the portable 2620, it is great. I have never had a problem with mine. I highly recommend it!
Summary: I purchased a refurbished model of the StreetPilot 2620 because I was told that it had the same warranty as a new model at half the price. The unit I got worked for about two weeks then started having numerous problems. It would consistently say "unable to load maps" or "can not read map data". I would have to turn it on and off about 6 or 7 times before it would decide to work.
