You will not be disappointed, take care of it and it will take care of you.

  • Summary: The Rino line in general is a beast, they can be touchy if you don't take care of it like the delicate piece of equipment it is. But you will not be disappointed in this amazing piece of hardware. I use mine everyday and the batteries on it are amazing. If you are not using it consistently, disconnect the battery to allow it not to die. Battery is expensive to replace. Prefer the Rino 110-Rino 530's much more then the the touch screens.

Top-notch GPS Unit!

samsblust2, Ebay

  • Summary: Top-notch GPS unit! Pretty expensive, but the features pay for themselves quickly. Powerful radio, great GPS unit that lets you keep track of others in your party on the screen. Rechargeable battery is really long-lasting and can go up to two days of use between charging.

  • Summary: Great product, would recommend this to any outdoors man or any hiker!Excellent reception even in some really far out places. We use them to locate each other while hunting or fishing or 4 wheeling. (My wife tends to get lost as she does not have a great sense of direction) Never again will she be lost. Just match this with any of the other Garmin radios, plug it in and you will be able to locate them.

  • Summary: this radio has great qualities. e-compass isn't as sensitive as i thought it would be, the antennae is loose, i keep tucking it back into base, but little use it works its way back out, worried rain/water might get under. for the most part, had no problems. color screen is well worth the extra money in my opinion. would recommend to anyone.

I think this product is awesome. All aspects of it…

  • Summary: I think this product is awesome. All aspects of it work great. GPS can be increased in heavy cover areas by enabling WAAS. Two way radio works good to about 10 miles, about 5 or 6 if many obstacles. Others say this isn't a good product, but I think that's because they don't understand a two way radio's operation. Two way radios work on line of sight. That's just the way it is.

Great Device - So Far, So Good

  • Summary: I love all the features of this device. I decided to buy as a way to introduce myself to the capabilities of a hand-held GPS receiver. I will quite likely be buying another Garmin RINO 530 in the near future so that I can use them together with a friend or family member.

love the extra features in the 530!

  • Summary: I originally bought a Rino 120 and started noticing some short comings. I decided to invest in a more expensive model. I found this one (refurbished) at a great price and bought it. This is well worth the extra investment. The unit has a built in digital compas so it automatically rotates the maps for you as you travel. The color screen helps differentiate features such as streams, roads, and topo lines. It also has a altimiter, thermometer, and numberous other features.

This is the easiest gps I have ever used.

13 June 2009
  • Summary: It combines a gps and a two way radio. I can easily see where my partner is on the screen, and can find my friends if they have a Rino of any kind. I can also block out anyone. Shifting from map to compass to radio to altimiter etc is quick and intuitive. The Li-ion battery lasts all day and more. And the screen is in color. I love that. I use the radio when I caravan with friends and family.

Rino Rules

rcam13, Ebay
2 May 2009
  • Summary: Has excellent battery life. The GPS gets satellites quickly. It's as handy in my truck as it is in the woods or on the lakes for directions. Since I already have one of these units, this one is great because now I know where my hunting partner is. I can do some still hunting and stay out of his area or know that he is still on his stand and do an easy one man push drive to him. The GMS radio means he and I don't need to carry separate walkie talkies.
