Great unit for groups out in the woods hiking or 4wheeling!

  • Summary: I bought this because I have had two of the 120 versions and want the additional features that this one had plus needed an additional com unit. The joy stick seems to be more easy to use than the ones on the 120s is. It is no longer made by Garmin which is the only drawback that I can find with it. The radio and gps work on it just as well as the 120s that I have.

Full featured safety with radio and GPS

rangeraj127, Ebay

  • Summary: All of the features I need in one device. Downloadable maps give you more detail and topographic info. The location reporting feature is the reason to buy these radios. It adds to the safety of my hunting trips. A larger, more detailed display and expanded memory are the only things it needs. It does everything the new models do, but at half the price.

Garmin Rino 130

  • Summary: I have two rino 120's, but wanted to install a better topo map and needed more memory. The 130 has an electronic compass which is great as you can tell direction without moving, which you have to do with the 110 and 120 versions. All the rino series, which can tell the position of another radio is awsome and can be a life saver. The polling feature allows you to locate the position of another radio without them having to key their radio, as long as their radio is on.

  • Summary: I can get rid of the compass. The 2-way radio is very clear in the woods compared to the other radios. The screen is a little dark can not find happy medium, bright sun it works well but not under a cloudy sky in the woods. Wish the backlight was easier to activate.
