Summary: I only regret that I didn't buy the 550t model with the terrain built in. For the few bucks more I am sure it would be worth it. This unit has so many different gadgets it takes a while to get used to everything it can do.
Summary: I purchased this GPS after losing my 450 while geocaching and snowshoeing in deep snow. I found the price of the 550 to be just a little more than that of the 450, so I bought this one. The interface is very similar to that of the 450. The added camera is appreciated.
Great handheld unit for all kinds of travel. Screen brightness is the only drawback.

Summary: This is my 2nd GPS receiver. It was an excellent upgrade from my previous unit. I've owned this for a few years. Battery life: Compared to my 1st unit, this excelled. There is a battery display on the main screen. I've used Energizer Lithiums and it was amazing.
Summary: While it's a bit of a learning curve to just pick up and use, it's been a lot of fun for the kids and I. We use it to go geo-caching in Japan. I was quickly able to intuit the fundamentals, being familiar with other Garmin products. I quickly learned that this has so much more to offer.
Summary: Works well and is easy to use. It is hard to see screen in direct sun, but other than that it is a nice unit. Much easier to use than my 76 model. Buy an extra set of batteries to carry with you if using unit or camera all day,
