Can this be used or is software available to allow accurate field measurements in farming applications?
On my old Magellen 315, I could get off a hill safely if the mist came down by following trackback - it took me back safely along the breadcrumbs. I cannot see how to do this in the 450, although I assume it must. When I go to Where To/Tracks/Current Track/Tracback the compass points me to far apart waypoints, or sometimes just to the end of the track - a route which if I follwed it would take me over cliffs! I need to be able to follow the track closely. How on earth does it work with the 450?
Often when I connect my Oregon 450 to my PC via usb cable, my pc does not recognize it. When I unplug the gps from the pc, and remove the cable from it, the display on the gps is still on. Then I remove both batteries from it and put them back in. Then it works fine. Any solutions??
So my husband is an avid angler and just received this Garmin as a present. It seems that it's mainly geared towards hiking and other outdoor adventures with some marine capbilities. Has anyone used this gadget for fishing and other marine related whatnots.....?
why when i download tracks to the oregon doesn't it save the color codes that i already have on my computer.Rather what it does is give a genaric color of pink.then i have to go into track log and manually change the colors back to the colors i've already chosen. Also why do i need to tell the oregon to show these tracks on the devise,i wouldn't have downloaded them if i didn't want to see them right.
