Summary: I had been using the Garmin nüvi 200W GPS for many years and LOVED it. It became my lifeline in the car, and I was thrilled with its operation. However, major road construction occurred near my house and suddenly my map was out of date.
Summary: I purchased this a little over a year after getting the nuvi 760, which I loved. I find the 885T to be a great upgrade from the earlier unit, however. The 885T adds just those little extras that I always missed in the 760, such as information about actual driving speed in addition to the speed...
Summary: As a outside salesman from southeastern Pennsylvania making multiple stops per day, I have been a heavy user of GPS systems for 6 years now. This is my 3rd Garmin. (I upgrade when enough new features come out, and give my old ones to family members.
Summary: I purchased this unit several months ago and paid the extra $99 from MSN Direct for lifetime service which is 4 Years. Today I recieved an e-mail from MSN Direct reporting they will discontinue sevice on 1Jan12 due to low sales and that they would prorate a refund based on a 3 year service.
Summary: Recent purchase of GARMIN Nuvi 885T proved outstanding. I received it, as promised, in 2 days shipping. Installation was simple and straight forward including registration and the 3 month MSN@Direct trial. Simple interface via USB between GPS and Computer proved valuable in a couple ways.
Summary: Super! I have been going all over since I bought this thing. Hasn't failed me once. And by the way, Its as easy as ABC to use. I love the bright colors but whats even more, you can adjust the volume of the oral directions..
Summary: PROS: Received it quickly in excellent condition. I've had 4 previous GPSs: a Lowrance (a good early model), 2 models of Garmin nuvi (both very good), and currenly a GPS that's built into my Mini Cooper that is so poor (adore the car, detest its built-in GPS) that I bought this Garmin to use instead...
Summary: This is the first nav system that I've owned. I had previously just printed color maps from Google Maps and kept them in a loose leaf binder when I went on a trip to places that I hadn't been before. After riding with someone that had a GPS nav system, I decided to give it a try.
Summary: At last, a GPS that lets you concentrate on the road. The speech recognition feature is easy to use and works extremely well. Coupled with my Bluetooth enabled phone and MSN Direct, Garmin has eliminated a lot of the hassle and potential problems of driving in congested areas.
Summary: I bought my Garmin 885t about a month ago and am very pleased with it. I had a Tom Tom One XL but the Garmin seems to have more detailed maps. I use the audio output in my vehicle and it works great.
