Summary: The Nuvi works ok, good points are it has the alerts on the screen so all you have to do is touch it to see the alert, the screen is clear and bright, the recalculation works quickly and is accurate.
Summary: Voice recognition is a great idea. For the most part the unit does a good job of interpreting speech. If there is a lot of noise (even the car air conditioning fan), it can interfere with the Garmin 880 understanding what you say. The speakers in the Garmin 880 should be louder.
Summary: Just completed a 7000 mile USA road trip with the Nuvi 880 as my navigator. Generally I was satisfied with its performance. Especially when in a big city. She gave ample warning when to exit and what side of the highway to be on. But here's the "but".
Summary: I recently bought a Nuvi 850 for the only one of our three cars that doesn't have a factory nav system and for rental cars. I am pretty well spoiled by factory system integration but I figured that the aftermarket portable crowd may have figured out how to make a decent product at this point.
