Pros: hardware is high spec but poor quality components 2 USB Inputs and ability to read direct from a USB powered USB device (ie Passport) Bluetooth when working is extremely clear thanks to the external bluetooth microphone
Cons: Don't honour any warranty/offer no support. Fault rate for me was 30% of 30 systems purchased, this is costly and a headache. Linda and Wendy are too busy for service and will reply to a problem after 1 month,if at all. Interface is common on eBay.
Summary: Unit defective . packaged haphazaredly. Duplication of some materials and missing on some other materials .Poor product support documentation. Service department reccommended I go to the manufacturer to have unit repaired.
Summary: I have had a Garmin 2610 since 2004. I decided to buy this unit for my wife. We both could not get the system to understand the numbers we were speaking for the address and I had to hand type them in. It was also hit and miss on names and other voice recognition tasks. I have a 2007 Highlander Hybrid so the car is quiet.
Also, something as simple as the MPH does not show up when using the route feature.
Summary: I am a Garmin fan! But, the 880 is a disappointment. First, you have to wade through their web site to find out that you need to upgrade the software before you can use their support system. That only took an hour to discover. Then you find one hour battery life. So forget using it on a bicycle or walking. Then, you have to buy a charger because there is not one included. Alternative use your PC. Doesn't even come with a carrying case. Stick with the 600 series.
