Garmin may not have the ubiquitous branding of TomTom here in Europe, but the company has actually been in the navigation business a couple of years longer. Its experience is obvious in the solid build and careful design of its products. This is particularly true of the nüvi 765T, which is an update to the nüvi 760 we looked at earlier in the year. For starters, the 765 marks Garmin's leap onto the ‘lane guidance' bandwagon. The corner graphic showing your next... Read more

This Nuvi does several things very well, and I've yet to discover any serious shortcomings. My thoughts: Navigation: Excellent, as is typical with Garmin units. On a couple of occasions the voice (right now I'm using Australian Karen) told me my destination was on the wrong side of the street. Map: The map is clear, the refresh rate is fast, and all of the right information is provided on-screen, including details for upcoming turns and junctions, speed limit, and... The amount of information contained in memory is staggering. Restaurants, hotels, with phone numbers is impressive. I like the fact that you can actually “stop” the incessant attempt to get you to your previously entered end point. Read more

Great Product...Extremely poor customer service. I had a problem with map update and spent almost 3 hours on the phone, most of it just waiting. Luckily I have a speaker phone so I could do other things while on hold. Garmin has never had adequate customer service. If they depended on their service, they would be long gone years ago. I would not be without a Garmin. I'd like the product to give accurate the same information via voice and screen. I'd also like the traffic information to be accurate. Please make a sun screen - the fingerprints I can handle, but not the glare of the sun. I miss the free weather information from my previous Garmin. I'd recommend people view comments from others before choosing which model they purchase. Read more

" Great product. GPS works extremely well. Easy to set-up in minutes. Lots of storage for MP3 or other features. FM transmitter works well even in city area. Traffic works OK but not 100% accurate. Also works well in Canada but without the posted speed limits. MP3 player freezes easilly. If you turn the unit off but keep it plugged in the car, when you turn it back on, the MP3 player does not work most of the time. Also, sometime, the unit does not recognize my Bluetooth...
