Summary: I really looked a long time before buying this Garmin Nuvi 780. I always get lost in cities and hate driving thru them. Now I can breeze right thru them without any errors. On the other side........ONE time......I went to see the Lava Caves in Klamath Falls OR and thankfully I knew where it was as the Garmin was wrong in its direction. That is the only time this happened for me though. Thought you should know both sides of the coin here.
Summary: Would like to share couples of Cons I experienced in 4 years of use, but overall, Garmin nuvi 780 is a good buy. (Don't know why Amazon says first available date is at 2010, but this product was already released earlier.) Cons: 1. After consistent charging/overcharging frequently, battery later became draining very fast during every use. 2. The sucking mount is not working anymore. Cannot stick to the window. It started to fail after about 1 year of heavy use. 3.
Terrible Battery Life, Some Addresses Not Found, Just an "Okay" GPS

Summary: Pros: Nice size screen, slim body, great windshield mount, nice display (reflective technology makes it easy to see in daylight), quick satellite fix Cons: Bluetooth unusable, voices difficult to understand (very primitive computer-generated-sounding), low speaker volume, poor battery life, MSN Direct due to become obsolete After having owned an old reliable TomTom One, I decided to give Garmin a shot, rather than paying to update the TomTom's maps.
Garmin 760 is the absolute best bang for the buck.

Summary: I purchased this new back in 2009 to install in my 2008 Nissan 350Z. It was the perfect size for the little cubby in the center of the dash. Whenever I want to update it or use it on another vehicle, I just push down on the button and it pops out, no problem. For mounting reasons alone, the 760 is better than the newer Garmin GPS units that mount using a clip on the top and bottom of the screen.
Summary: I bought this in 2009 and I had screen issues a few months in. I would turn on the GPS and the screen went black it just didn't boot up but you heard the noise it makes to acknowledge that you are pressing buttons but a blank screen. I had to send it to Garmin because it was still under warranty at that time to repair it. When I got it back it immediately had issues acquiring satellite. I didn't want to send it back because they took their time with it the first time.
Summary: It's a really good GPS when it worked. It's a pain to go through the interface to type out the city and state. One day it just stopped working. It said that there were battery problems. It turns on for about five seconds and then just goes dead. I'm glad this didn't happen while I was actually going somewhere. I contacted customer support through their website and never heard back.
Summary: I am a directionally challenged person whose family begged me to buy a GPS when they first became available. Not wanting to spend the money, I held off for several months. Finally convinced by my oldest daughter who owned a Garmin and showed me all the additional wonderful things a GPS could do, I bought my own. It turned out to be the best choice I could have made. I bought this item brand new in 2009 and it has been my car companion ever since.
works great and is the perfect fit for Suzuki Sport SX4 vehicle!

Summary: Works pretty well. Sometimes the map is off, and may need updating, so make sure you have the latest updates if possible - still not sure how to do that myself, but most of the time the navigation is perfect and I like the feature that I can type in local businesses and restaurants and get a fairly accurate list of local places to go to.
Summary: I like the Garmin Nuvi 760 for my car; it works great. I had to buy a new one because my last Garmin Nuvi 760 stopped working after yrs of use. Ebay was the cheapest way to replace my old Garmin.
