Summary: This was purchased to replace the same model that had gone bad. We liked this model because of its ease of mounting (quick release). Unfortunately, Garmin does not make a later version with that feature. We have had this model for each vehicle for over six yrs.
Summary: Some of the features are nice, but none of them outweigh the fact that the 680 fails to get you there the way it should. In using mine extensively for nearly 3 years, it would regularly choose routes that made no sense. Some would be miles out of the way. Others would travel on miles of gravel roads even when a paved route was available. Changing the settings (route preferences) made no difference.
Summary: I LOVE THIS GPS! I USE IT EVEN WHEN I DON'T NEED TO. LOVE THAT IT HAS PASSCODE PROTECTION AND THAT YOU CAN USE DIFFERENT OBJECTS INSTEAD OF AN ARROW AS YOUR GUIDE. THE SCREEN SIZE IS WONDERFUL! BUY IT, YOU'LL LOVE IT!
Summary: Great unit for finding addresses in areas that you are unfamiliar with, both locale and out of area. The only drawback for this unit is that you have to pay for the updates, where as the newer GPS are being sold with free map updates. When using the NUVI 680 it will direct you to the address you have programmed into it, but not the back roads, which sometimes can be faster than the interstate if the interstates are backed up with heavy traffic or there is an accident.
Summary: After 4 years of use, still working great. It has resisted coffee and water spills, falls, impacts, etc I bought in first place because its ability to load maps from PC (something new at the time). Now I am thinking of buying a new set and definitely I will buy Garmin again.
