Summary: The Garmin nuvi 660 was a very expensive gift for my husband. It worked fine for about two years and then the battery went. You need to be an engineer to replace the battery. The cost for an authorized dealer to do that is about what it would cost to replace the gps. The maps need to be upgraded continually at added cost. Other than that, the gps is easy to use when plugged into the cigarette lighter in the car.
Summary: I've had the garmin 660 for about 6yrs I changed the battery in it last night and now it no longer works very unhappy with it I really need this for work and now I am out I need to buy a new one but not sure what kind to get I need a truck route one and would like on that has everything my 660 had
Summary: We've had a few of these over the years, and with a map update, still running fine. Although Garmin's map updates are the greatest or accurate most times, Im still missing roads that have been around for years, and these dont allow for any sort of corrections. The handsfree aspect is nice, and the audio player is good, but the FM transmitter is garbage, very underpowered.
Excerpt: case is very nicely constructed, but has limited use - it only holds the GPS unit, which means that you still have to carry the power cable, windshield mount, and GPS bracket separately. Overall, there are much better, if not quite as stylish, solutions out there.
