Summary: The extra inch (vs my old 4" unit) makes a world of difference, so if you're debating which to get, go with the 5". Garmin has made their firmware / software updating process online much more user friendly than in the past, and all-in-all, no problems.
Summary: This GPS is easy to use - - - easy to program a destination and clearly gives directions as you approach an important turning point. My navigation voice is Michele and all audio is clear and easy to understand - - - I miss the alert "ding" that my NUVI 670 provided, when the next turn is being announced.
Arrived unworkable - and needed repairs out of the box
25 March 2014
Summary: I'm writing this because none of the reviews I saw before purchasing this model mentioned my issue. Out of the box, this Nuvi with preloaded maps wouldn't move from the Garmin logo screen. The Garmin Express registration process didn't recognize it when I plugged it into the USB port on my computer.
Summary: My girlfriend needed one for her business travel so I got her one. After seeing hers I picked up one for myself. My daughter borrowed it to go on a trip. Looks like I'll be buying a third one now. This is the one I bought second. I'll be buying another like this one. If you want a gps unit spend a few dollars more and buy the one with the lifetime update maps!
