  • Summary: I tried out the NUVI 50LM for the first time today, and it routed me all over the place, and mostly in the completely opposite direction of where I wanted to go. I had been to this destination before which is 26 miles southwest of my home.

  • Summary: I have owned a Tom-Tom GPS which has worked admirably with my RV. I drive a 40" Class A Winnebago Motor Home with a 2010 Saturn in Tow. I got tired of paying for updates of maps, so I decided to purchase a new device with lifetime updates.

  • Summary: I just received today and upon first look the Unit was very dirty with fingerprints on screen. I looked at other items in box and the suction cup mount has something sticky on it as well as a dry thick substance all over it.

  • Summary: Bought this unit to replace my old Garmin Nuvi because it was cheaper to get a new one with lifetime map updates than to update my old one twice! Used it out-of-the box on a short trip(50 MI.

  • Excerpt: The Garmin GPS is ideal for new towns and cities to help you get around. With the lifetime updates you will no longer see the message telling you your maps are out of date.
  • Pros: Easy To Install, Reliable

BEWARE OF "LIFETIME MAPS"

kjens, Amazon

  • Summary: We purchased this unit as an emergency replacement for another Garmin unit that died (turned out to be the power adaptor) during a trip. I was interested in the larger screen compared to our Nuvi 255 unit and the lifetime maps option.

  • Summary: I have owned many portable GPS Units including Magellan and Garmin. My last Garmin was over 4 years old and I figured with the new screen sizes available I would give this a shot. I purchased it last year during Black Friday (2011) for $99.00.

  • Summary: I knew that I was buying a refurbished unit. I expected it to work when I received it. The unit was locked in the simulation mode and could not be unlocked. It was also set up for use in Spanish. There is no operating manual with the GPS. That has to be downloaded from Garmin.
