Summary: Have had one of these for 7 years until one day it just decided to die. Found a used one and it works great. Not to many of these out there where you can plug in a backup camera. Hope this one will last 7 years.

Summary: Nuvi came without any suction cup to attach it. The display even when turn up to 100% was NOT readable, it was so DIM that in day light hardly make out that the display was turned on.Which makes the unit completely useless for any driving application. When Nuvi was Plugged in to power supply unit made loud humming noise. Returned it for refund.
Summary: My original went dead. Garmin doesn't make these anymore so finding one in this conditions for the price was awesome. I have this custom installed on my truck. I'm glad this was available. I didn't want to have to recustomize my truck for a different model. Thanks.
Summary: Bought this to replace a Lowrance...ooppss....bad choice - weak antennas in this Garmin series means plunking down $30 for an external antenna just to get a signal. No battery.....and now I am attempting my second map update in 2 years....and it says NOPE - not enough space on device. So much for lifetime map updates. Hey Garmin, if I wanted music on my GPS, I would have bought an iPod (oh, wait, I did....so why do I need music on my GPS - right, I don't).
Summary: Bought this model for larger screen and rear view hook camera up. The hook up to a Boyo camera was very difficult, as the Boyo plug in different from the female input on the nuvi. Eventually had to craft a plug. Also, the Garmin has to go through all its warm up before it will let the rear view camera to get onto the screen. Takes too long. Somewhat disappointing, but not terrible.
Summary: After having purchased 3 of these Nuvi 5000's, I'm impressed that it just simply works. Big screen, great features (bluetooth, nah) and it does what it says it's supposed to do. Bought one for a friend's daughter who has dropped it about 50 times in the house, no guess on how many times at college... AND, it still works. Durable, not buggy like other models I've used and pretty cheap for a 5.2 inch screen.
