Summary: I know my way around town but......I'm bad with directions. Other people can go somewhere and remember the route, not me! And this has kept me from going great distances and sometimes going somewhere new. I wanted a GPS for my car. No, I don't want to use my phone because I need that for calls and using it for long distances drains the battery. I researched all types of GPS and found this one and the write-up on it is wonderful.
Pros: I'm actually a Pizza Hut Driver, and this is my opinion. I've owned the Garmin 50 for close to a month now, and it is very handy. Simple to use, nice bright screen, and many other nice goodies that come with it too.
Cons: Probably the only dislike I have for this very nice little GPS is that, I can understand that it's not going to be 100% accurate. But when I'm on a rushed delivery it would be nice to have it tell me STOP HERE your destination is on the Right/Left. Instead of the destination closing in on 400ft - 300ft - 50 ft.
Pros: Very accurate maps and under normal circumstances a fast satellite connection. Good battery life. Interface is user friendly as well.
Cons: Bad customer support. Product has loading issues and will not load past the boot up screen about 1year after purchase and will only work unplugged. I emailed customer service and they sent me directions to a website that did not work.
Summary: What is not to love about this product, it is a Garmin, lifetime maps, 5 inch screen and lane assist. This is the 3rd Garmin I have bought, this one was a Father's Day gift and my Dad was thrilled. It was great to kid him about needing the bigger screen. Lifetime maps is a must have on any GPS,.
Summary: I bought this for my Mom, a senior who just moved to a new area and was constantly getting lost. She loves it! It's so easy to use, I hardly had to show her anything. She says it has really eased her mind and she's not so worried while driving. Price was great, refurbished model works just fine.
Summary: Only had it a month but so far great - bright screen, re-calculates quickly and some of the installed gadgets are fun to play with.
Pros: Price and functionality
Cons: Bought the GPS when my old MAGELLEN died. Did some research - capabilities and prices, decided I didn't need the higher priced models - overkill for my occasional needs, hence decided on this model. Besides the price was right and NEWEGG's shipping and RMA abilities are second to none!
Pros: This Garmin is just plain better than the other "top" brand. The updating is easier and cleaner. Although I haven't used it on an extended trip as of yet, around DFW it chooses really good routes, and usually less traveled. The traffic information is accurate and the rerouting seems to miss the crowd.
Cons: I suppose there's no way to avoid it, but in order to have the traffic update, you must have the unit plugged in to the vehicle charger. The charger wire acts as the antenna. OKAY??
