Summary: the garmin wasn't brand new like I was told it had been registered since 2010 so I couldn't down load the maps with out paying 89.00 I have had it it a month and its not perfect but what is but it will do in a pinch wont be buying nothing electronic off ebay again
Summary: I brought the garmin gps because im a trucker thats delivers fuel additive to costco fuel stations and have to get routes and directions on my own .what i love about the nuvi t465 is the hazmat route and truck restriction route to assist you routeing to some stores located in some residence communitys.what i dont like about the nuvi t465 is that some highways are merged sometimes is not clear which highway to take which can cause you to get alittle fix on the nuvi gps...
Summary: I have been using this GPS for about 18 mos now. It navigates well, but setting the parameters for the commercial vehicle is pointless. It just navigates big roads. I would not say that it "customizes" a route based on the parameters you pick. Route indicated for six ton ambulance is the same as an 80,000 lb tractor trailer. It will however, navigate you to the bigger roads in truck mode. Routing in either auto or truck mode can be a little different.
Summary: It took a lot of studying it, to really know how to use it real effective. It has a real problem upgrading maps. Original maps work real well but using upgraded maps it wants to freeze up the gps. Overall it works well.
Summary: This GPS is great for the RV owner. It can be programed with your RV's dimensions for avoidance of low clearances and sharp turns. It is a very good value for all that it can do. In the past we have been guided by our GPS systems onto dirt roads, under bridges with 12 foot clearances and into tight city roads. With this unit, these problems are eliminated. The only negative would be the small screen.
Summary: This unit has the right idea. But it still needs work. The fact that it tells of traffic, dot scales, non truck routes is good. I did have it put me on a non truck route and tell me after the fact. I don't need to be warned of scales on the other side of the highway. The blue tooth does hook up with my phone but no one can hear me. Overall this is an excellent unit. Keep working on the problems and Garmin would be far ahead of the rest. Maybe hire a driver to help.
Summary: I've traveled the USA for many years. When I use any GPS, I know to double check the route. Pick your favorite paper or electronic map and it will have flaws. It doesn't matter who puts the map or mapping software out. Count on errors. Having said that, I have used a couple of Tom-Tom car GPS units, which I consider useless, and a Garmin car GPS unit. Before that I used a laptop along with Delorme Street Atlas and their plug-in GPS unit.
