Summary: I actually got 2 one with lifetime maps and one without thinking that it was a different gps but turns out the same product, just one with lifetime maps.. I still use it but next time I would buy the one including lifetime map updates..
Summary: I bought the Garmin nuvi 465/465T for use as a Truck GPS. I already had one for the car of a different brand and I love it (not one of the top 3 sellers but in my opinion, the very best). In Truck Mode: This GPS did not give truck speed limits but continued to give car speed limits. Gave warning about the road perhaps not being a truck route when it was clearly marked, mapped, and tagged as such for years.
Summary: so far this thing sent me into a 12.9 and a 12.4 bridge it will tell u when a skinny bridge but not a low clearance bridge and yes i did set it for a 13.6 truck the only thing it does is brings a question mark up and says trucks may not be allowed on this road the other feature i was hopin it had was how many lanes there are and which lane that you need to be in because i run the belt legs in DC it shows it on the display cover when you get it but not on sceen when your...
Summary: Ok, first off I own this 465t and a tomtom. But this is about the 465t. Garmin has made a pretty good unit, but it still needs a quite of bit of work to be done. I live in northern illinois. I drive locally and regionally. What i have to say good about the 465t is I like how you can put in all your dimensions and hazmat if needed. And then "try to proceed with a truck route". I have never tried this in the car mode, only truck mode.
Summary: I purchased the Nuvi 465T since I drive a tractor in various areas of Maryland to help keep me out of trouble with low bridges, restricted roads etc. My other and perhaps main reason to buy this unit was the hope of selecting back roads that are conducive for my tractor when making private deliveries. Well, this is not the case.
Summary: I'm giving this a three star only because it's the only GPS i ever owened. But it has made my job easier and improved my work performance. I am a commercial truck driver in Los Angeles Ca. And drive all of Southern California. It does a good job keeping you of the NO TRUCK ROUTE streets, but if you do run into a no truck route street and it will send you down one. just turn and the gps will re-calculate you another way.
