  • Summary: GPS is slow to respond at times and the instructions don't come in time to action them. OK if on the open road but not good in cities.

Garmin and overall Staples

Pat, Staples
13 March 2014
  • Excerpt: For the most part things are good; however, no matter what I do I can not get the weekly ad in English. I get it in Spanish. I also would like the recycling of ink cartridges to be immediate instead of waiting for the rebates and then they have expirations. If I just got a big order, it expires before I can use it - hopefully that is not the purpose. Love my Garmin had one and got a new one with free map updates.
  • Pros: Easy And Reliable
  • Cons: Non Programming Capabilit

It's OK

chuckeroo, Staples
6 March 2014
  • Excerpt: This thing is a little hard to route and use. When you want to pick an address to go to it only brings up the state you are in. It does talk to you which is handy and has lifetime maps.
  • Pros: Extensive Base Map, Quick Signal, Reliable Reception
  • Cons: Difficult To Set Up, Short Battery Life

  • Summary: This is a pretty average GPS. Key features I like is it tells you which lanes to stay in on the freeway so you won't take the wrong exit or connector and the automatic reroute. What I don't like is that if you pull off road into plazas or a hospital and put in another destination it will say continue to a road but not tell you how to get to that road from the place you in.

Watered down model

Schelleci, Staples
2 January 2014
  • Excerpt: If all you are looking for a reliable basic model then this would work. I only bought it because it was on sale and was going to be cheaper than buying lifetime updates for my current one. That said, once I turned it on I quickly found out it had 1/3 the capabilities of my old one. I took it back and will be paying for the lifetime updates on my old one. Other than that I don't think Garmin makes a bad product.
