Summary: My first GPS purchase was 5 years ago and was the Garmin 2730. Back then, I wrote an extensive review and despite any shortcomings, rated it 5 stars! After the bulky power cord had to be replaced several times, I decided it was time to replace the unit.
Pros: It has a pretty screen. Enojyable to the eye. Though, I would much rather have ANY TomTom over this Garmin. It's just dumb.
Cons: The thingy takes like 5 - 8 minutes to find its stupid satellites. My old TomTom took under 2 minutes. For long drives, I still will use my two year old TomTom over this piece of poooo. Its shinny and pretty, but doesn't pull the job off well at all.
Summary: So, I got mine at Best Buy, bbooooo. Yea ok now that we are over that. I bought this at first cause of the look and the so call reviews online. Pros: Light Gorgeous Cons: Price Recalc time, it's takes what seems like forever to me compare to Tomtom...
Summary: This is a review of the Garmin Nuvi 3790T. I live in Montreal and have travelled to many cities in and around Canada and the States. Thus, after having the 3790T for about 6 months, here are my comments ...
Summary: You are probably confused by the title to this review but my recommendation is simple: The unit design and navigation is well above average. However, its usage is severely hampered by stupid and frustratingly frequent pop up advertisements that cannot be disabled.
Summary: This GPS is good but has problems. I've been waiting 3 months now for a software update but nothing. This unit seems to have fewer features than my 6 year old StreetPilot 2610. The 3790T doesn't seem to interface well with MapSource. It is not easy to find a location in a distant city.
Summary: Been using the nuvi line. I've kept a 360 and 660 and tried/returned a couple of others.....the problems I experienced with the 3790: 1. After a software update it started drawing maps very very slowly. 2. software bugginess galore. pretty easy to get it to crash. 3. it chooses odd routes.
Summary: I read a lot of reviews on this device before purchasing one myself. I had purchased Nuvi 660 a bit over four years ago and even though it still works it would not hold a charge and my hope was after four years Garmin would have improved their traffic routing.
Overall, it's a step down from previous Garmin Nuvi GPS devices

Summary: I've had my Garmin 3790t now for a couple of months. This is my fourth different model of Garmin devices (and because of their susceptibility to break and malfunction, it is my ninth or tenth unit in just over three years -- meanwhile, I was overseas for nearly one year of that time without my GPS .
Summary: This newly released Garmin GPS has several great design features but also has some functional flaws that need to be resolved. For now, due to the very high price, I returned it until Garmin can fix these issues. Details are below.
