Summary: Took it out of the box, plugged it in, it fired up right away and was ready for use with minimal set-up! THE FOLLOWING IS AN EDITED REVIEW: To make a long story short, after the initial two days of use, I downloaded new maps and updated software - - since then, nothing but nightmares!
Summary: Have not used the bluetooth. It is supposed to have traffic information, but it doesn't seem to work. Google Maps appear to be more up-to-date with traffic. At this pricetag, I would expect lifetime maps and a faster startup time. For that reason, I give it 1 egg.
Pros: The Nuvi 3790T has a fantastic display. Very clear and intuitive. The voice activation is not perfect, but still fairly good - I can speak an address and it get it correct about 40% of the time. I tend to use the keypad mostly as it ends up being faster and more accurate. The speedlimit feature i...
Cons: The Nuvi 3790T is very slow to find the satellites. It usually takes 3-5 minutes to find the satellites. I can live with that, but my iPhone and plane GPS (also a Garmin) can find the satellites in less than a minute. What's worse is that it doesn't come with lifetime maps. At $349 it should come...
Summary: The 3790 looks great, too bad it is a totally flawed product. In the four months I have owned mine (well both of them, as I returned the first one), it has locked up, the maps have gone blank, reboots for no reason, traffic function disappears, voice recognition stopped working, and it routes you on...
Summary: I've been using Nuvis for years. Was very excited to get the new form factor Nuvi so I could give my well-worn 765 to my graduating daughter. Received my fancy new device and put it directly into service on a trip to NYC--my first time there after all these years of exploring the rest of the...
450 Dollars plus the coast of lifetime update and i get adds every time i come to a stop

Summary: this is a compleate rip off i thought i was buying top of the line GPS unit, but no every time i come to a stop they shoot adds at my map.If I want to get rid of it I have to buy a new cable for life time trafic update.
Summary: First, I have to tell you that I have had a Garmin 2720 Street Pilot that I bought several years ago when that unit first came out. The Street Pilot 2720 performed flawlessly for the entier time I had it so I I had high expectations for the nuvi 3790T.
Summary: I have had major issues with the 3790T, its pretty and worked well and all of a sudden would recalcualte, then the maps would disappear but the voice directions would continue. After many calls to service and doing everything they said it just quit totally.
DISHONEST ADVERTISING - DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!

Summary: Junction View does not work. I called and spoke to Garmin as this function is "supposed" to work out of the box on the 3790T. They claim it has NOT been implemented extensively across North America and if you want it, you will either need to pay $100 for lifetime map updates or purchase individual...
Summary: Awesome looking unit, maps are pretty, and functionality is great. Used it in the northwest US and all the way up to Calgary. It said to turn about 1/4mi from where an actual turn was, but it was a remote part of Canada, so I wasn't very upset about that.
Summary: While the general experience with the product is good the maps are severely out of date, not accurately depicting roads that were completed more than an year ago. This was found after the maps had been updated to the latest ones provided by Garmin as of 8/31/10.
