Summary: Bought expecting the same overall quality on the Garmins but the brand seems to have lost it's path. With smartphones nowadays just lacking the ability to do my laundry, this unit is very small and has no internal capacity. You'll need to buy an microsd and a cover to protect it if you want to. The battery lasts about 1 hour or so (not nice) and the units quite often stops responding.
Summary: For the amount of money I spent on this I'm a little disappointed with it's performance. I really do like the size and form factor which apparently came at a compromise to function. The GPS takes a long time to pick up the satellites and start giving directions. I've also found that on local routes (where I'm familiar with the area) that this GPS no matter what route setting you choose does not always pick the best way to take.
Summary: The GPS is only lead you to a place that is really close to ur destination then says approaching your destination and done. You have to find the place by yourself. And some times it shows no signal.i have to restart it order to get it back to work. But the outfit is really cool ..
Summary: Not as accurate as my old Garmin. 1st and only use so far was in San Diego, purchased city map, not much help. Will keep learning. Part of problem could be operator. Will update review with more use. Basic navigation lags 2 or 3 seconds, too late sometimes to make turn. Direction of turn and lanes available feature was accurate. This unit gets very hot when left on.
Summary: I reduced my previous 5 star review with a 3 star because the infamous "blackout" happened to me. My gps directed me through a neighborhood I was completely unfamiliar with and when I needed the next direction it shut off. Luckily, I was able to pull over but had to wait for all the maps to load, input my destination again, and wait more for the satellites to find me.
ID and Dsiplay is impeccable~! Search engine still not desirable.

Summary: The device is stupid and slow when i start using it. After updating firmware, it responses fast and locates the position precisely. Display looks perfect~!~ Wideview with strong output lumiance. However, the seaching engine for point of interest is slow comparing to Mallegant. The worst is that it can't search by ZIP code.
Summary: I have been a long time customer of Garmin products. The problem is this unit will sometimes freeze up and you cannot hard reset it to make it reboot. This leads time excessive times when trying to get the unit to turn back on. I have had it take as long as overnight to get the unit back to working conditions.
Summary: I'd imagine that all the major GPS brands have issues picking up the signal in Manhattan and Brooklyn, but that just makes me even less impressed. What use is a GPS if you drive around in the city for over 30 mins and the unit STILL has not picked up a satellite signal? This has happened several times. It just seems incredible when I have to resort to Google Maps on my phone to get home- which by the way ALWAYS has signal and works instantly.
Summary: I like the fact that its easy to carry and looks great, but that's about it. When I turn on the unit it sometimes take on average of 5 to 10 minutes to find a Satellite. I guess if you don't mind waiting its ok, not for me! it is also easily damaged not as robust as other garmins models. I think I'm going to return for the 2360LMT which gives you all the feathers of the 3790T but half the price and its new for 2010 also.
