Summary: Bought expecting the same overall quality on the Garmins but the brand seems to have lost it's path. With smartphones nowadays just lacking the ability to do my laundry, this unit is very small and has no internal capacity. You'll need to buy an microsd and a cover to protect it if you want to. The battery lasts about 1 hour or so (not nice) and the units quite often stops responding.
Summary: For the amount of money I spent on this I'm a little disappointed with it's performance. I really do like the size and form factor which apparently came at a compromise to function. The GPS takes a long time to pick up the satellites and start giving directions. I've also found that on local routes (where I'm familiar with the area) that this GPS no matter what route setting you choose does not always pick the best way to take.
Summary: The GPS is only lead you to a place that is really close to ur destination then says approaching your destination and done. You have to find the place by yourself. And some times it shows no signal.i have to restart it order to get it back to work. But the outfit is really cool ..
Works Great A Lot the Time, but has Some Serious Problems

Summary: It works pretty well - it will get you where you need to go, but has some serious flaws. PROS: - Voice recognition works surprisingly well - Fairly fast with finding a new route - Nice voice, easy to understand - Loud and clear with easy volume control - Love the lane-by-lane detailed views - Good timing with the navigation directions. CONS: - Bad at finding airports - could not find the Dulles IAD airport in Virginia.
Summary: I BOUGHT THE NUVI 3790 WITH HIGH EXPECTATIONS OF THE LATEST GPS TECHNOLOGY, BUT I WAS QUITE DISAPPOINTED IN IT'S PERFORMANCE. I ALSO OWN A NUVI 1260T AND A NUVI 1490LMT AND THE ACCURACY OF THESE TWO UNITS ARE MUCH BETTER THAN THE NUVI 3790. THE 3790 TAKES ME, ON MANY TRIPS, TO MY DESTINATION IN A ROUND ABOUT WAY AS THOUGH IT DOESN'T REALLY HAVE UP TO DATE INFORMATION EVEN THOUGH I HAVE THE LATEST MAPS LOADED.
Summary: PROs Excellent display and interface Very good routing information Easy to use when it works right CONs Poor product support Poorly designed software for updating Garmin devices Quality assurance issues for this product MY EXPERIENCE TO DATE My original device failed within a few months of use. Garmin sent me a refurbished unit as its replacement, which from the first time I turned it on did not work properly.
Summary: Had a Street Pilot with real time XM traffic and was 90% accurate. This one can't keep up with current traffic situations. Seems like traffic provider is useless. I drive 25 miles a day in Los Angeles. Traffic information is about 40% accurate on this model. I don't see any of Garmin's newer models offering real time traffic. Rest of the functions work fine.
Summary: Not as accurate as my old Garmin. 1st and only use so far was in San Diego, purchased city map, not much help. Will keep learning. Part of problem could be operator. Will update review with more use. Basic navigation lags 2 or 3 seconds, too late sometimes to make turn. Direction of turn and lanes available feature was accurate. This unit gets very hot when left on.
Summary: I reduced my previous 5 star review with a 3 star because the infamous "blackout" happened to me. My gps directed me through a neighborhood I was completely unfamiliar with and when I needed the next direction it shut off. Luckily, I was able to pull over but had to wait for all the maps to load, input my destination again, and wait more for the satellites to find me.
