Summary: It may be adequate in the U.S. but it was useless to me for walking in Edinburgh. It has no compass display so I couldn't even tell directions. The battery discharged too quickly for extended use in walking. It is not practical for use in weather cold enough to require gloves. I suppose it must be admitted that the claims for function were fulfilled. But there needs to be disclosure of what it cannot do as well.
The GPS just stopped working! and I can't get refund
Nahp Man, Amazon
23 November 2012
Summary: Garmin nüvi 3750 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator This is my second purchase of this GPS unit. The first unit, i accidentally sat on because it was in my rear pocket. I BOUGHT IT FROM CRUTCHFIELD.COM I also had a the 3yrd warrant on the unit. So i was able to return it and get a refund. I purchased my current DEFECTIVE unit from AMAZON.COM from the seller "PrimeDeal". It arrived in an opened item box.
Summary: This is the 8th Garmin I own, currently have 4 in family use. They are great products and some of the early ones have features much better thought-of then the newer ones. I am jumping from a Nuvi 360 to this 3750. Purchased from Amazon and put it in use only yesterday. Items on the plus side I am not goig to discuss, only the negative items. These later units have fallen off the scale of what they are intended for.
Summary: Started out with pretty high hopes for this GPS. At first it was great, but the device soon started having problems. It has trouble picking up a signal sometimes, so you have to sit there and wait and wait while it acquires satellites. Also, sometimes after several hours of use, the device just turns off in the middle of using. I see from other reviews I'm not the only one with problems.
Summary: This sleek, good looking thin design has much work needed to be used for it's intended purpose. Garmin's new design is slow, demonstrates poor signal reception, a fast discharging battery compared to other units and often freezes mid navigation. This would be the first Garmin product that I will return.
Summary: I've owned so many Garmin products over the years, it's hard to keep count. Currently, I have a unit for running, biking and two for cars. Probably owned 7 units before that, so I know Garmin. I love their interface - as opposed to Magellan or TomTom - and I was excited to read about the 3700 line because of its similarities to the iPhone/iTouch and its sophisticated software.
Summary: I bought my Garmin 3750 a month ago through Amazon...and loved it's compact sleek design. The directions it gives seem to make you take either the long routes or the inconvenient routes where you have to cross busy intersections that have no stop lights... but that isn't really my big complaint. I read someone's review here about how they dropped their Garmin once and it wasn't working after that.
Summary: This is the first GPS unit that I have owned. I have used a very old Garmin in the past briefly, so that is the only comparison that I have. I initially wanted the 3760 for the lifetime traffic, but I've read how unreliable that it is and that you have to deal with advertisements on the screen - nothing is "free", remember. Anyway, I settled on the 3750 because of the above concerns and it fit my price range better. After a week of ownership, I am posting my thoughts.
