Summary: I had never owned a GPS device prior to recently purchasing the Nuvi 3590LMT. My wife was especially skeptical about the necessity for such a device. Well, we just took our first trip with the Nuvi and she and I are both sold on the device. It was fantastic! My wife and I go to a camp out in the woods near Plymouth, MA each year. The 3590 found the address in seconds and guided us right to the camp despite that it was off many small back roads.
Summary: Menu system is very complicated. I have yet to figure out how to create favorite places to go. However, the computer inside it processes information from the satellite quickly. Also, you can't play music on it, like I could on my old one.
Summary: The volume is great. This is a good looking unit. The GPS direction needs improving. One point, when you get off the exit ramp and need to go left or right down an access road, the unit does not recognize the difference and you must choose and wait for re-routing to find the right exit. If you have parallel roads or multiple roads leading off an exit ramp, you will be best guessing. The sites on the birds eye view is not what I expected, but good.
Summary: This unit has loads of features and is a real pleasure to use with one reservation. On our recent trip to Florida we used it to find RV camp grounds and on at least three occasions found that the site had long ago been turned into a sub-division. In one case we called the phone number provided (a nice feature by the way), and the lady who answered said that they had closed the camp ground 10 years ago.
Summary: one of the best sat navs i've used.sadly software glitches causes screen to freeze occasionally(very awkward in middle of navigating.) This means having to restart the device-no software updates to resolve this problem&garmin deny this problem exists.
Summary: I just got this GPS and have not used it a lot yet so did not give it five stars because I do not care for the search of POI. MAYBE it is because I am not totally used to it yet.I also have a TOM TOM and it seems much easer to Operate.
