Keep your phone but get this. Exceptional Value for the Almost All In One Gadget it is!!!

David Schad, Amazon
18 February 2011
  • Summary: While not a beginner's GPS, this nüvi makes a fascinating gadget for the tech minded traveler. I'm new to GPS navigation but not gadgets. For what I paid as a Gold Box offering, this is one of the best gadgets I have ever acquired.

5 Stars - For what it is, instead of what it's not!

D. Daniels, Amazon
1 February 2011
  • Summary: Can't understand the negative reviews for the Nuvi 295w. It's not a 4.3 or 5 inch screen. It doesn't have lane assist or bluetooth or traffic. It won't be audible over your loud car radio. If you're expecting those features in a GPS, choose a high priced Nuvi model.

Powerhouse of Features for the Road

Holistic Friend, Amazon
17 January 2011
  • Summary: I bought this in the fall as a lightning selection as a gift for a family member who travels across the country. The price and reputation of Garmin were important factors in my decision.

Great upgrade from my nuvi 255w

barn girl, Amazon
4 December 2010
  • Summary: I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews about this product but I figured since the price is way better than what I paid for my refurbished nuvi 255w (which doesn't have nearly as many features on it) that it is worth the risk, especially with amazon's great return policy, and I was not...

Navigating in Hawaii

Flashman, Amazon
4 July 2010
  • Summary: My new Garmin 295W GPS unit is wonderful. We tried it out the day we received it for the most awkward locations we could think of and it worked like a charm. The only problem we encountered was the pronunciation of Hawaiian street names (we simply had to laugh at some of them), but this was overcome...

Great GPS on travels away from home.

Phred, Amazon
13 June 2010
  • Summary: Great GPS, even compared with their mainstream units (I've had 2xx, 3xx and 6xx series and now use a 765T). Acquisition is comparably fast as are POI searches. POI searches gain a lot from the wi-fi enabled Google Local Search function which digs up a lot of relevant information for the immediate...

Michael E. Hensley, Amazon

  • Summary: If your desire is to send E-Mails and search the web, then this is for you. I have had mine 3 days now and cannot put it down. Lightweight/easy to use/finds wi-fi hot spots easily and locks on quickly/The 3 gb HD is a bit small but then I bought for it's wi-fi and GPS nothing more.

Great little GPS

Doug a, Amazon
13 June 2010
  • Summary: I already have a GPS built into my car, but was thinking of getting one to have for when I travel and have rental cars. I ordered one of the other Garmins but sent it back when I saw this one. Though a bit more expensive I thought the GPS/Camera, and wifi capability would be fun.

Montana (Garmin 295) is a solid navigation & wi-fi "PDA".

Highland Rock, Amazon
13 June 2010
  • Summary: +: Plays MP3 and does GPS navigation simultaneously without any pauses. A major plus when comparing to my old MIO P550 PDA with Microsoft Mobile Windows 5.5. Also, Garmin does not crash like my MMW 5.5 MIO PDA that frequently wipes out personal data. Route recalculation is fast.

More features in a smaller package.

Mystro, Amazon
13 June 2010
  • Summary: I own many NUVI GPS units. The features in the 295w are well beyond any other GPS model out there. The touch screen scrolling is faster and more intuitive. The unit is just faster all around.
